Thompson Reunion

The setting: beautiful Bear Lake!

The people:  my favorite in the world!!

First week in August - Thompson reunion time!!  We shared our Bear Lake week with Aunt Michelle plus lots of friends.  The Wallys and Keslers came up on Saturday.  I don't know where my camera was and I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of them!!  We did a little boating, a little eating, a little bracelet making, a little craft fair exploring, plus an evening trip to the park.  Fun!  Sunday we finally tried out the Garden City ward and we got a huge treat.  Elder Quentin L. Cook was there with his family and they turned a few minutes over to him after the testimonies.  Very cool!  Then Monday it was my birthday!  I love my birthday so much because I always get to spend it with my family at one of my favorite places.  Presents in the morning!  Wes and crew gave me a couple of new shirts, and a paddle board rental.  I will be getting my own paddle board one of these days when we can find just the right one.  Yay!!  Michelle gave me a book and a scarf, and Karlton gave me a cheesecake pan!  I've always wanted one, and now I can get a lesson from the cheesecake expert!!

Cider was so cute in the water.  She loved paddle boarding along with me and she was out there for a long time!  Karlee inspired us to try a few yoga moves on the board too.  Not that we were too successful at it, but we tried.  That night we ate Lakeside pizza and LaBeau's shakes!  Yum!  Thanks everyone for a fun birthday!!

Although the water has gone down quite a bit, we still don't have much beach.  We kind of had to set up among the weeds, but we had a super nice day!

Wes was having a good time all week spraying and cutting weeds on the lake bed.  He may or may not have gotten in a wee bit of trouble for it.  Shhh... don't tell!

Kori played matchy matchy.  First with Karlee, then with her friends who came up on Tuesday.

Lucky Kori got 2 days off, one to spend with me on my birthday and one to spend with her nice friends who drove up to see her.

They had lots of fun tubing!

Poor Seth.  This is what happens when you kneel in the tube and "skin" it!

I love these girls!

We enjoyed boating the rest of the week.  Even Aunt Michelle had a kneeboard!  It felt so good to her to be in the water, and she had a great time out there.  Check out the Thompson tongue action!!

Not a lot of Bear Lake glass this trip, but when it's good, it's good, and Wes found a little!

Clint rocked the kneeboard and new wakeboard!

And no Thompson reunion blog post would be complete without Wes and my model faces, right?

Birthday Time

We spent Clint's b-day at Bear Lake this year!  16 - holy - oldness - oly - Batman!  Our baby is 16?!?  And what a super kid he is too!  He's been my buddy this summer since it's just the 2 of us at home.  He is a gregarious, inventive, hilarious, charming brainiac and we love him!!

The Ulriches came Friday night to camp and hang out with us while eating extra grande Bear Lake pizza and listening to the crazy bug zapper! The Mikesells made it up Saturday just in time for the clouds.  Boo.  But of course we still had a great day!

Clint got to open one gift in the morning, because he was going to need it!!

We managed to sneak in a boat trip with the Ulriches before the sprinkles started.  Clint's new wakeboard was awesome!!  And can you believe we got 3 year old Kenlee up on the kneeboard?  What a trooper!!

We spent part of the drizzly afternoon making paracord bracelets.  This was a last minute idea, and I was glad we had them ready to go.  Everyone seemed to have a great time making them!  Shelby looks like she either didn't like sitting by Clint, or just didn't want her photo taken!

The highlight of our afternoon was a little electro-shock therapy!  On the way back from the park, Russell was stung several times by hornets.  Wes hooked up the wires to the stereo and shocked the stings to the sounds of "Radioactive."  It was more about the electrocuting and less about the actual pain, but those boys had a heyday with it.  They all had to try it out.

And the grand finale!  Presents and cake!!  Per Clint's special request, Karlee made him this beautiful cheesecake!  He got a movie and a game from our friends, $ from the grandparents, a zombie poster from Karlton, and his first cell!!

Happy Birthday Clint!  And thanks Ulriches and Mikesells for a super fun weekend!!
