Birthday Time

We spent Clint's b-day at Bear Lake this year!  16 - holy - oldness - oly - Batman!  Our baby is 16?!?  And what a super kid he is too!  He's been my buddy this summer since it's just the 2 of us at home.  He is a gregarious, inventive, hilarious, charming brainiac and we love him!!

The Ulriches came Friday night to camp and hang out with us while eating extra grande Bear Lake pizza and listening to the crazy bug zapper! The Mikesells made it up Saturday just in time for the clouds.  Boo.  But of course we still had a great day!

Clint got to open one gift in the morning, because he was going to need it!!

We managed to sneak in a boat trip with the Ulriches before the sprinkles started.  Clint's new wakeboard was awesome!!  And can you believe we got 3 year old Kenlee up on the kneeboard?  What a trooper!!

We spent part of the drizzly afternoon making paracord bracelets.  This was a last minute idea, and I was glad we had them ready to go.  Everyone seemed to have a great time making them!  Shelby looks like she either didn't like sitting by Clint, or just didn't want her photo taken!

The highlight of our afternoon was a little electro-shock therapy!  On the way back from the park, Russell was stung several times by hornets.  Wes hooked up the wires to the stereo and shocked the stings to the sounds of "Radioactive."  It was more about the electrocuting and less about the actual pain, but those boys had a heyday with it.  They all had to try it out.

And the grand finale!  Presents and cake!!  Per Clint's special request, Karlee made him this beautiful cheesecake!  He got a movie and a game from our friends, $ from the grandparents, a zombie poster from Karlton, and his first cell!!

Happy Birthday Clint!  And thanks Ulriches and Mikesells for a super fun weekend!!

Mayes Family Weekend

We had a few Mayes family members at Bear Lake this weekend!  Heidi and Jared and their kids came on Thursday.  I went up and spent the day with them at Minnetonka Cave.  McKinlee and Logan loved it.  Jared loved it even more!

Love this cute family!

We also played a little bit at the park.

Check out that big baby in the swing!

Jared and Heidi played a mean game of tetherball while the kids cheered them on.

Wes and Clint came up Thursday evening, and after a few clouds and sprinkles that night, Friday morning was just glorious!  We had a fun boating excursion and we even got the whole family up on the kneeboard!  We also got Clint up on the wakeboard!  Finally!  I so wish I would have had my camera!!!  Sorry Clint.  He also had the gnarliest wipeout ever.  He slapped the water so fast and so hard, we all thought he would be unconscious or bleeding.  He stung a little, but was otherwise fine!  Whew!

Heidi out on the kneeboard!

Logan was much happier driving the boat than kneeboarding.  He was a good sport though.

Jared tore it up! And McKinlee would have stayed on the kneeboard all day.

JuJu, Marie and Bill came down Friday afternoon and stayed until Saturday.  We had a little beach time on Friday.  Saturday was pretty windy, so we played at the park and rode the go-karts.  Hopefully we wore the kids out enough to sleep all the way home!  We had so much fun with them!  We hope they'll come and see us again!
These two have the cutest faces ever!

Clint's little shadows.

Hot mama on the boat.

Look at that beautiful water.  It was such a fantastic day!

My pretty aunties.  Thanks for a fun weekend!

The Mighty Hunter

We had a great first week of summer at the lake!  Clint and I went up with Kori to help her move in and get settled.  She is working at LaBeau's for the summer.  Her roomie, Sierra wasn't able to come up until later in the week, so we kept Kori company for a few days.  Clint and I had fun biking, playing at the park, playing games, practicing his driving and doing a lot of relaxing!  It was just beautiful up there and quiet!  Clint enjoyed carp hunting every morning and every evening out in the shallows.  He managed to free the lake of one carp.  He was pretty excited about it!  He got some attention from the neighbors too, wondering what he was doing.  Good job Clint!
