Wes's genius idea for a boardwalk to the lake came to fruition over the soggy weekend. He was able to get a permit from state lands, and then we went to work! Thankfully we had enough help from the neighbors to get it almost completely finished in one day. Thank you thank you for all the help on a rainy day!! Here's how it all went down:

After loading the sections of boardwalk onto the trailer, we hauled them out and placed them into an artistic looking, yet practical pathway down to the beach. No more slogging through the marsh! Yay!! This is going to be SO nice!
